Bonus Terms Explained in Plain English
Casino bonuses come with conditions that can be confusing at first. Here is a plain-language breakdown of the key terms you will encounter at monkey88 and at any reputable online casino in Malaysia.
Wagering Requirement / Rollover
The number of times you must bet your bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings derived from it. A X15 rollover means you need to place bets totalling 15 times the bonus value before cashout is unlocked.
Example: You claim a MYR 200 bonus with X15 rollover. You need to wager MYR 200 × 15 = MYR 3,000 in total bets before requesting a withdrawal of bonus-derived winnings.
Maximum Bet During Bonus
While playing with active bonus funds, most platforms cap individual bets — typically between MYR 250 and MYR 500 per round. Exceeding this limit can void your bonus.
Example: If the max bet during bonus is MYR 300, placing a MYR 400 single bet while a bonus is active may result in forfeiture of that bonus.
Game Contribution
Not all games contribute equally toward fulfilling a wagering requirement. Slots typically contribute 100%, while table games like Baccarat or Blackjack often contribute only 10–20%.
Example: MYR 100 wagered on slots = MYR 100 toward rollover. MYR 100 wagered on Baccarat at 10% contribution = only MYR 10 toward rollover.
Bonus Expiry
Bonuses do not last forever. Most platforms set a window of 7, 14, or 30 days from the date the bonus is activated. If the rollover is not completed within this window, the bonus and any associated winnings are forfeited.
Example: A bonus activated on 1 January with a 14-day expiry must have its full rollover completed by 14 January.
Sticky vs Non-Sticky Bonus
A sticky bonus cannot itself be withdrawn — only winnings generated from it can be cashed out. A non-sticky bonus is added on top of your real money and can sometimes be withdrawn separately once wagering is met.
Example: You have a sticky MYR 100 bonus. After wagering, your balance is MYR 350. You can withdraw MYR 250 (winnings), but the original MYR 100 bonus stays in the system.
Maximum Cash-Out
Some bonuses cap the total amount you can withdraw from bonus-derived winnings. Even if you run your bonus up significantly, the withdrawal may be capped at a set MYR figure.
Example: A bonus with a MYR 2,000 max cash-out means that even if you turn MYR 100 into MYR 5,000 with bonus funds, you can only withdraw MYR 2,000.
Practical advice: Always read the full Terms & Conditions before claiming any bonus. If something is unclear, contact monkey88 support before activating the offer.
